Discover a Fishing Paradise in Andalusia
Fishing at the Zufre Reservoir

Andalusia is an outstanding destination for fishing for Gypsy barbel, a species endemic to the southern Iberian Peninsula. The region’s many reservoirs and crystal-clear streams, together with its large barbel and carp, make it one of Spain’s best destinations for sport fishing.

Fishing Methods and Techniques in Andalusia

Fly fishing in Zufre is an exciting challenge, where large Gypsy barbel will put any angler’s skills to the test. Sight fishing is the main technique, with every cast requiring precision and patience. The thrill of watching a barbel patrol the shoreline, presenting your fly at just the right moment and seeing how it reacts makes this a unique and moderately challenging fishing experience. The clear, shallow waters along the shoreline provide the perfect setting for sight fishing and stalking.
